Seattle’s Left
Bank

Renowned as Seattle’s most artistically eccentric community,

Welcome To Fremont

Fremont wavers
whimsically somewhere
in time between the 50’s, 60’s and the 23rd century.

Things to Do
at the Center of the Universe

Entering through the
gateway, the Fremont drawbridge, you’ll find a towering 53’ rocket poised for launch. From here you can easily spend hours brunching and browsing in Fremont's
deliciously fun and unusual shops or
treasure hunting the
many emporiums of
vintage clothing,
collectibles and antiques. Poke around and you’ll
find a real chocolate
factory, brave new
art galleries, several
celebrated micro-
breweries*, a fascinating
underground antique
mall, the Northwest’s
most diverse acoustic
musical instrument
shop, a working fine arts foundry, the Empty Space Theater and, on Sundays, a thriving
flea, craft and farmers' market. For food and drink you can enjoy the
European style pubs, bistros and coffee houses, or the fine ethnic and seafood restaurants.

The Art of
Celebration and
Vice-versa

For most people
Fremont is synonymous with fun and mischief.

For instance, on warm summer Saturday evenings,
adventurous people
bedecked with chairs, sofas, costumes, and
fun-attire flock to see their favorite cult and classic movies on the big
screens of Seattle’s
only walk-in style movies. Underneath the nearby Aurora bridge you’ll find the famous Fremont Troll in the act of devouring a little fahrvergnugen. In fact all around Fremont sly tromp l’oiel sculptures and street art abound.
And every year artists and Fremont
denizens gather to celebrate the muse,
first with the extravagant
Mardi-Gras style float and costume parade at the summer solstice,
and annual Fremont
Street Fair and then, on October 31st, with the
spectacular luminary
procession and mischief at Trolloween.

Another Curious
Anomaly

According to reliable sources Fremont lies in a special geophysical area. Stay long enough and you too, will notice an odd gravitational effect. The inability to stay away, the overwhelming urge to return again and again.
So when our Native Americans claim this area lies at the very Center of the Universe, somehow we're not surprised.

Believe It
or Not
!
“Delibertus Quirkus”
is Fremont's official

motto. It means...
“Freedom to be Peculiar”
